KATRINE RIA MARIE

Visual artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark

Katrine Ria Marie is a visual artist working across painting, ceramics, sculpture and installation. Her practice explores material, form and the relationship between repetition and variation.

Working with the hand and through material is central to her process. Forms are repeated, altered and reworked, allowing small differences and unexpected outcomes to emerge.

After years of working primarily with ceramics and craft, she is currently exploring painting again. The move into painting continues an ongoing interest in repetition, transformation and the possibilities that emerge through making.

Katrine Ria Marie holds an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, 2013. Her work has been presented through exhibitions, installations and collaborative projects in Denmark and abroad.
